Live Meeting Technical Director

The City of Littleton's Communications & Marketing Department has an opportunity for a temporary part-time Live Meeting Technical Director to perform technical directing for live meetings in Council Chamber and the Community Room. This temporary part-time position will work variable hours on an as needed, ongoing basis.

Hiring Pay: $200 guaranteed for the first three hours, then $75 per hour after the initial 3 hours.

Work Schedule: This position will be required to work in person to direct live meetings.

  • Required to work meetings with a three-hour minimum, up to four hours long.
  • Average of one to six meetings per month.
  • Most meetings start at 6:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.

This temporary part-time position is non-exempt per FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs technical director duties for Commission meetings. 
  • Streams meetings live to Facebook, YouTube, and broadcasts to Comcast and Channel 8 website. 
  • Creates lower-third graphics for meeting agenda. 
  • Operates remote Panasonic PTZ cameras. 
  • Troubleshoots audio and video issues as they arise. 
  • Requires minor setup and teardown of certain equipment. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Experience with video engineering, troubleshooting broadcast equipment including audio board, video switch, PTZ cameras, and social media live video streaming; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and work experience that produces the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position may be considered.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of video and television production. 
  • Knowledge and skills in video engineering, equipment installation and minor repair.
  • Adaptability and ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly for broadcast equipment including audio board, video switch, and PTZ cameras.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage social media live video streaming

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Duties for the position are performed in a standard indoor office/conference room/studio room environment.
  • Requires the ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance. 
  • Work may involve periods of standing, sitting, bending, and operating specialized equipment.
